ARC Trains first cohort in Practical First Aid

Friday 3rd June 2022 marks a historical moment for the Anguilla Red Cross. A cohort of seven volunteers were trained in practical first aid. This is a level above basic first aid and just below Emergency Medical Responders training. The training was designed to include teaching strategies to help achieve the goal of more confident and skilled volunteers.

With this training volunteers are now in a better position to provide necessary emergency support to the national health services and support community events with top quality first aid care. The training covered topics such as, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator)) Automated External Defibrillator, Choking, lifting and moving patient, head, neck and spinal injuries, vital signs and more.
